Infrastructure
FMS’ state-of-the-art infrastructure is designed to handle a large volume of referrals in a highly secure environment. In a world of “fraud without borders” and sophisticated hacking tools, we have built a total enterprise systems package capable of managing a varied set of public and private sector portfolios without sacrificing performance or security. Our infrastructure design is based on, and continues to be guided by, the following concepts:
- System Performance
- Data Confidentiality
- Data Availability (99.999% uptime)
- Data Integrity
- Environmental Consciousness
The FMS infrastructure is characterized by the following components and features:
- Collocated Data Centers – FMS operates primary and secondary collocated data centers with geographic separation for optimum physical and environmental security controls. In addition, the use of a Tier 3 collocation center provides for faster throughput.
- Complete Redundancy – FMS has achieved 100% redundancy of all mission critical systems and processes including servers, dialers, applications, email, Internet, and telephony through the utilization of twin configurations in both the primary and secondary collocated data centers.
- Data Availability and Integrity – FMS has achieved 100% protection in terms of data availability and integrity through use of the following technologies:
- Storage Area Network including full data replication from the primary collocated data center to the secondary collocated data center.
- Recovery Point technology to minimize the loss of data due to corruption or deletion and subsequent replication of the issue to the secondary data center.
- De-duplication technology as well as a Disk-to-Disk-to-Tape data backup methodology. This technology streamlines the data backup process, provides quicker and more reliable data restores, and minimizes the expense of tape technologies as well as the environmental impacts of plastic and magnetic media.
- System redundancy at all levels including WAN connectivity, Internet connectivity, firewalls, routers, switches, and servers.
- Thin Client Computing – FMS uses a Thin Client computing environment in conjunction with terminal servers running on virtualized blade servers. This environment not only increases the level of information security, but also greatly reduces harmful impacts of data centers to the environment in the form of electrical and cooling needs.
- Information Security – FMS’ Information security plan is based on compliance with the concepts contained in the following standards:
- FISMA
- PCI
- ISO 27002
- SAS 70
